Late last September, we published an article advertising our Shop2Win contest taking place between September 20 through to October 31, and now that the competition’s over, we’re extremely excited to announce the results!
For a quick refresh on the rules of our contest, we encouraged local businesses and their customers within The Junction, Baby Point, Bloor West Village, and Roncesvalles neighbourhoods to help give back to our west Toronto communities.
We did this by rewarding those who shopped at local small businesses in our four chosen neighbourhoods with the chance to win weekly cash prizes and one Grand Prize worth $2,000. All entrants had to do to participate was submit a copy of their receipts from their small business shopping trips and they earned a ballot to win!

Why We Ran Shop2Win
We’re so happy to say that throughout September 20 and October 31, we had over 6,400 entries from people who shopped at over 800 small businesses in The Junction, Baby Point, Bloor West Village, and Roncesvalles — WOW!
This is so amazing to see because not only was this the first community collaboration of it’s kind, but we were able to help preserve and support the vitality of our cherished west end main streets, which contribute so much to our sense of local identity and community.

The Contest Results!
Over the six-week duration of the competition, we rewarded local shoppers and the businesses they shopped at with weekly prizes worth $1,000 each! In total, we awarded eight shoppers with $500 and the local west end businesses they sent their receipts to us from with $500 too.
The competition culminated with entrant Victor Leung winning our Grand Prize, which was worth $2,000 — all for him! Congratulations, Victor!
As an avid foodie, Victor supported multiple local restaurants and businesses throughout the competition as he submitted contest entries for at least 3 of the 6 weeks of the contest, and the best part is Victor’s entries were from more than one participating neighbourhood!
Not only did Victor shop hard, but he also entered the contest by submitting Google reviews for the businesses he visited. We love to see that, as Google reviews help businesses from a search optimization perspective and add value to the businesses’ brands.
But that’s not all — Victor plans to keep contributing to his favourite west end communities by putting back at least half of his winnings into the four participating neighbourhoods by organizing group dinners and supporting his beloved local food scene.

The new ShopJunction2Win will be taking place from November 26 through to January 2 and will focus particularly on supporting local businesses in the west end’s The Junction neighbourhood.
