A new year has begun, and we at the Sidorova Inwood Team are looking forward to the fun and excitement that 2020 will bring. Having said that, there are few things we enjoy more than looking back at our favourite moments from the recent past. In 2019, we had many chances to support our community at local events—and made sure everyone had a great time in the process!
Here are some of the events that made 2019 so special for our team…
1) Baby it’s Cold Outside
Let’s start with the most recent event on our list. In the lead-up to this holiday season, we celebrated in style at the “Baby it’s Cold Outside” event. On Saturday, November 16th, we set up a tent outside of our office in Baby Point and greeted visitors with hot chocolate—and fun activities!
To get everyone in the holiday spirit, we set up our very own cookie-decorating station. The parents seemed to love it as much as the kids did! We also held a contest where participants had to guess how many treats were in three different jars. The prizes included a $100 Cineplex gift card, and family passes to both Canada’s Wonderland Winterfest and the Ripley’s Aquarium.
Even Santa Clause wanted to get in on the festivities—he joined us for a visit and photos with the team! This was our second year taking part in “Baby it’s Cold Outside,” and we can’t wait to get involved again next year.
2) Summer Fest at Baby Point
It seems we’re always looking for an excuse to get to know Baby Point—even more than we already do! On June 15th, we took Summer Fest as an opportunity to welcome our neighbours to our office at 780 Annette Street.
As part of the festivities, we had ice cream on hand—over 500 treats were handed out to help locals beat the heat. We also held a raffle that can only be described as a rousing success! Prizes included family passes to Ripley’s Aquarium, along with gift cards to Cineplex and Tiny Trendsetters (a chic Jane Street boutique that every parent should check out).
The community really came out for Summer Fest, which included balloon animals, street performers, face painters, a bouncy castle, fantastic eats and drinks, and more. This year, the event had special significance since Raptor Mania was at its height. You better believe we were wearing the team’s gear to show our local pride!
3) School Fundraising Events
June was a great month for us—and not just because of Summer Fest. We also took part in a whole bunch of local school fundraising events! Each one represented a great opportunity for us to give back to the community.
First off, we were Diamond Level sponsors of St. Cecilia’s Fun Fair on June 6th. From our balloons to our raffle to the loot bags we gave away, we loved contributing to this already-stellar event. Next up, we acted as Gold Level sponsors of “Illuminations” at Runnymede Public School. It was a day filled with music, drama, and visual arts, and we couldn’t have been prouder of the students whose talents were on display!
The fun didn’t end there. We also took part in Humbercrest Public School’s “Party in the Playground” (which featured inflatable slides, creative crafts, and fun games, among other attractions) and Keele St. School’s Fun Fair (where we sponsored the bouncy castle!)
We had a blast supporting our communities in 2019, and we know the best is yet to come. In 2020, be sure to keep an eye out for fantastic local events we’ll be participating in. We can’t wait to see you there!
