The Perfect Halloween Decor

Share This Post:

If you have kids or simply love to decorate on every occasion then you know what’s coming up. Halloween! Some get into the spirit while others don’t. For those who love it and decorate their home annually know that a decorated home just livens up the spooky yet exciting atmosphere, attracts more trick or treaters, gets your kids excited or just simply allows you to have fun with decorating! While some go full out scary on their house decor, you can always opt for the simpler and more attractive (yet still spooky) look!

Pumpkins on Display

This most likely is no surprise! You can have large pumpkins and small pumpkins. Set up a display table in your home and set clear apothecary jars which you can fill with mini pumpkins; you can get white ones, orange ones, black ones, the list goes on. Mixing is key!

Spooky Mantel

Group together black decorative accessories such as books, candle holders with a few festive, and somewhat frightening, touches such as fake cobwebs or skulls – this will definitely amp up the Halloween mood. A few coats of matte-black spray paint turns a holiday garland into a Halloween-ready touch.

Pillows

You know you always change up the pillows during every season. Purchase a few holiday themed pillows to switch out with some of your already-existing classics. They don’t need to be pillows with skulls, witches or gravestones on them! — but bring in the fall colours; oranges, reds, dark tones, etc.

Feeling Really Festive?

If you’re having guests over, make sure you have appropriate items to eat and drink out of like Halloween themed goblets, mugs and straws. If you’re making food add some food dye to your meals so that they reflect the colours of Halloween or top your cupcakes off with themed toppers – you can get these at any Walmart or even Dollar store.

Tim Burton Inspired Décor

Let’s face it, every time you watch a Tim Burton movie, it has Halloween written all over it. Have some Tim Burton inspired décor around your home – Jack Skellington heads hanging from the ceiling, spooky twig trees, black and white striped tablecloths, you’ll get the idea after watching just one of his movies!

A Halloween Entry Way

Decorate the energies on the entryway. If you’re planning on handing out candy and have a table at the entry way – be creative! Arrange some bare brunches, pumpkins, cobwebs, bleeding candles. Just be sure to place a protective layer between the decorations and your wood surface to avoid any staining or scratches.

Don’t forget the outside of your home

You can go old school and purchase fake cob webs, get out the mist maker, and pumpkins. You can also set out candles to create an even spookier mood – take out some old wine bottles or coca cola glass bottles, spray paint them black and pop in a simple white candlestick. With the wax pouring down, it’ll give it a great eerie look.

Keep It Simple

If you’re not really too into Halloween but still want your home to have a festive feel – spruce up your kitchen by placing a salad bowl at the centre of your table or centre island, and add some assorted mini pumpkins and sunflowers. It sounds simple but looks classy!

Enjoy Halloween and keep your home decorated!
